Our benthic sampling surveys are designed to identify biological communities in subtidal habitats and classify marine biotopes. The fundamental prerequisites are the capacity to maintain station precisely and consistently during a diving operation, frequently near drilling or production platforms; the ability for positioning to deteriorate gradually enough in failing conditions to allow divers to be recovered without undue risk; and the ability to carry the support equipment required for the type of diving to be employed.
